From 29 June to 3 July 2026, the Faculty of Economics and Management at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague hosted another edition of the EcoMod School of Modeling and Data Science, an international school focused on economic modelling. A total of 22 participants from around the world took part in four intensive courses.
The five-day programme offered four parallel courses covering key methods of quantitative economic analysis: step-by-step DSGE modelling, energy and environmental CGE modelling using GAMS software, computational economics and machine learning in MATLAB and Python, and macroeconometric modelling and forecasting in EViews. The courses emphasised hands-on work with models, enabling participants to practise each method directly on their own computers under the guidance of instructors with experience from modelling teams at leading institutions.
EcoMod courses focus on topics that are currently shaping economic policy, including sustainability, energy and climate change, fiscal and monetary policy, the labour market and regional development. Graduates are equipped to develop and apply models for scenario analysis, policy impact assessment and forecasting.
EcoMod is an international network bringing together academics, analysts and policymakers from more than 180 countries. Its summer schools rank among the most highly regarded educational events in the field. The Faculty of Economics and Management has hosted the event since 2014, making the Prague campus one of the annual meeting points for the global economic modelling community.
