Erasmus+ is a key program of EU in the area of academic mobility. It makes it possible to organize and financionaly support interuniversity Exchange students, pedagogues, research and administrative staff of partner university in EU countries and also associated countries. In addition to their studies the students also get an opportunity to participate in work experience stays.
The program is most frequently used by students for one or two-semester study stays at partner universities abroad. During the existence of the program FEM sent out and also accepted several thousand students. Student mobility at our faculty atracts increasing interest of growing numbers of foreign students. This shows good quality of education in English language at FEM CULS Prague popular with foreign students.
At present the faculty has bilateral agreements with more than a hundred partner universities. The list of the partner universities at which our students during their studies at FEM can participate in one or two-semester mobility can be found here.
During the academic year of 2015/2016 each semester around two hundred foreign students studied at FEM within the framework of Erasmus+ programme. Their participation in the classes considerably enhances the well developed international environment at the faculty.
The regular students of FEM thus have an opportunity to enrich their education with experience of a study stay abroad. Under the Erasmus+ programme the students can travel abroad for a period of up to 12 months, but only once at each study level – bachelor, master and/or PhD. Every academic year this option is taken up by more then two hundred students of this faculty.
FEM is also an all-university coordinator of Erasmus Mundus CASIA and TIMUR mobility programmes, which are directed towards the development of academic mobility in the countries of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan). For the past five years of these projects implementation dozens of students of all academic levels have studied or are still studying at our faculty. Pedagogues and managers of universities from this postsoviet region have also visited FEM to gain experience in European style education. The programmes provide significant support for the development of university institutions in these countries and contribute to beneficial international cooperation. A similar programme called IAMONET has been implemented with the network of Russian Federation.
