BioPhys Spring 2026 Connected Young Scientists Across Disciplines

On 28 – 29 May 2026, the international conference BioPhys Spring 2026 took place at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. The jubilee 25th edition of the event provided a platform for presenting scientific results, sharing experiences, and establishing collaborations among young researchers from various disciplines.

BioPhys Spring 2026 is not merely a traditional scientific conference. Its main goal is to create an open and inspiring environment in which doctoral students and early-career researchers can present their work, receive valuable feedback, and build connections with colleagues from partner institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad.

This year’s conference was held in the auditorium of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and brought together topics from technical, natural, and applied sciences. The main scientific focus was on applications of physical methods in biological systems; however, the programme also covered biotechnology, agricultural and environmental sciences, sustainable development, economics, food science, modern analytical methods, and technical applications in research.

Representatives of the Faculty of Economics and Management at CZU also contributed to the programme. Among the presented topics were a contribution focused on an open-source conference management system and configurable peer-review processes, as well as a presentation exploring the relationship between artificial intelligence, students, and the future of higher education. The Faculty of Economics and Management was also represented on the conference’s scientific committee by Prof. Lucie Severová.

BioPhys Spring has a long tradition — the conference was established in 2002 on the initiative of Prof. Blahovec and gradually expanded through cooperation with partner organizations from Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, and Indonesia.

This year’s edition was held under the auspices of the Rector of CZU, Prof. Michal Lošťák, and the Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic, Ing. Martin Šebestyán.

The meeting once again confirmed the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation and demonstrated that connecting science, technology, sustainability, and education brings new impulses for both research and practice.
