In the usability lab, professionals in the fields of marketing, management, information technology, psychology, and other specific areas will find a professional environment for science, research, and development, both for specialists and commercial entities. Through experiments and testing, it is possible to collect and analyze data from verbal expressions, facial expressions, body language, and other biometric characteristics of test subjects. The unique architecture of this laboratory allows the monitoring of up to 10 test subjects simultaneously, significantly reducing the time and overall costs of testing and experimentation. Another specific advantage is the ability for collaborative testing, where multiple participants work on a given task at the same time. This enables the monitoring of team performance as a whole, as well as the roles of individual team members.
The usability lab consists of two separate areas - a testing room for participants and an overhead room from where testing and experiments are managed. The lab's testing room is equipped with state-of-the-art technology including computers with passive cooling, monitors equipped with a webcam that captures the participant's face, EyeTracking equipment monitoring gaze, large screens on the walls, wireless headsets with microphones, and a portable video camera. The entire room is monitored by 4 Enviromental Dome cameras that capture video and sound in the workspace. In addition to the audio and HD video chain, the overhead room for the moderators and test administrators houses a central server system for recording storage, image sharing administration and comprehensive management. The control room also includes a mixing console and various other equipment. Communication between rooms is facilitated by speakers, directional microphones, or wireless headsets with microphones.
