On Sunday the 4th of December 7, 2019 in the Atrium in FEM held the second annual pre-Christmas gathering with the festive lighting of the Christmas tree and a charity fundraiser. The Dean of the FEM, Martin Pelikán, together with everyone present, ceremonially counted down the lighting of the Christmas tree, symbolically starting Advent time at FEM. As part of the informal pre-Christmas meeting, a charity fun was also held to support Dobrý anděl (Good Angel) foundation, of which CZU in Prague and FEM are a long-term partner. A total of CZK 7,720 was collected.
The Dean of the FEM also handed over a check for CZK 40,000 in support of the endowment project for seniors of Ježíškova vnoučata (Jesus’ grandchildren). The project operates under the patronage of Český rohlas (Czech Radio) and with the participation of Slevomat. It was this company representative who attended the FEM event and presented the project. On the website www.jeziskovavnoucata.cz, the donor may choose a specific wish (gift or experience) to be provided to the senior. Mrs. Ludmila and Mrs. Emílie can enjoy the donation from FEM. Mrs. Ludmila can look forward to her new wheelchair and Mrs. Emílie can look forward to her lounge chair with wheels. Thanks to these gifts, both ladies will now be more mobile and will have a greater opportunity to be around the people they enjoy.
The pleasant Advent atmosphere was complemented by Christmas songs performed by Petr Sovič, the singer from the Gramophone band, and also the youngest singing bandleader in the Czech Republic, who has been on the Czech music scene with his Golden Big Band Prague for the past 10 years. The performers were also accompanied by the legendary double bass player JUDr. Vít Fiala (who has worked with Eva Olmerová, Vlasta Průchová, and now in recent years with Eva Pilarová) and also the Chief Operating Officer of the Divadlo Semafor (Semaphore theater) Jiří Svoboda, pianist and arranger. The overall atmosphere is captured by an authentic video.
