Prof. Ing. Lukáš Čechura, Ph.D., Assumes the Role of Dean of FEM CZU Prague

On February 1, 2025, prof. Ing. Lukáš Čechura, Ph.D., takes over the leadership of the Faculty of Economics and Management at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. He was elected by the Faculty’s Academic Senate for a four-year term. He succeeds Assoc. Prof. Ing. Tomáš Šubrt, Ph.D., who led the faculty in recent years. 

Prof. Čechura, previously the Head of the Department of Economics, is a renowned expert in applied economics and econometric modelling. His research focuses on productivity analysis, efficiency, and agricultural policy evaluation. He is the author of numerous academic publications, a key investigator in national and international projects, and a guarantor of several core educational courses, considerably contributing to the faculty’s academic and pedagogical development. 

Among the key priorities Prof. Čechura aims to pursue are strengthening the faculty’s position within and beyond the university, fostering open and transparent communication, promoting collaboration and innovation, and ensuring strategic financial consolidation. He is also committed to creating an inspiring academic environment that supports excellence in education and research.
