General Information

Faculty of Economics and Management, Czech University of Life Sciences (formerly of Agriculture), Prague

Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), which is one of the four faculties of the Czech University of Agriculture, is an educational and research institution which, according to Act No. 111/1998 Coll. on Higher Education, offers university education, develops creative, research, educational, social and cultural activities emerging from national, democratic and humanistic traditions of mankind. The faculty offers bachelor, master and doctoral programmes for its students and it is the way how it contributes to the development and spread of education, knowledge and culture in general.
The strategic goal of the faculty is strongly related with faculty internationally comparable position and its competitive advantages in the Czech Republic and in Europe. This strategic goal is based on exploiting unique situation of contemporary boom. Its achievement is done through the use of the high potential of faculty teachers, other workers, students and co-operating bodies. From the point of view of the position within the group of economically oriented faculties of the public universities in the Czech Republic, FEM is ranked among the largest ones (more than 9,200 students enrolled), the best ones (according to the accreditation done by the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic FEM is listed among the six best Czech economic faculties) and the most popular (in the last years there are more than 8,000 applicants asking to study FEM). The rich international relations in education and research characterise FEM as and equal partner of well known European and overseas universities. 
Long lasting tradition and development of pedagogical, research, scientific and international activities are reflected in acknowledging these important areas of academic life in the accreditation of bachelor, master and doctoral programmes and in the procedures of habilitation (title “docent” - associated professor) and professorship (title “professor”) in the areas approved by the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic.

The basic structure of the Czech University of Agriculture (CUA) in Prague is composed of four faculties and one institute:
  • The Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM)
  • The Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources
  • The Faculty of Forestry and Environment
  • The Faculty of Machinery and Technology
  • The Institute of Tropics and Subtropics
